Several joined the Mundus consortium in 1907 and later the Thonet-Mundus conglomerate in 1923. Others - among them Hugo Reich in Łodygowice and Adolf Wech - remained independent until the Second World War. The French division of Thonet-Mundus continued after 1938 as Thonet Frères.

Their successors remain active today: TON in Bystřice (Czech Republic) - the oldest continuously operating bentwood factory in the world, founded by Michael Thonet himself in 1861; Fameg in Radomsko (Poland) - the former Thonet Brothers factory of 1881, still using original nineteenth-century machinery; and Paged Meble in Jasienica - heir to the same Hofmann factory of 1881, today one of Europe’s leading bentwood furniture manufacturers.
