Authentic model No. 35 from the 1890s, a refined example of 19th century bentwood craftsmanship. These pieces would have originally been found in elegant city apartments, bourgeois salons, aristocratic waiting rooms or railway lounges.

The vertical and U-shaped bentwood loops forming the backrest are characteristic of Thonet’s Model No. 35. The overlapping lower arches are a rare and decorative motif used in a handful of Thonet chairs, including this model. The turned front legs and tapered form reflect the neoclassical influence typical of high-end Thonet models made in the 1880s–1890s.

The woven cane tabletop matches the cane seat of the chair - an uncommon feature for tables, but one Thonet occasionally used in lighter salon or side tables. Its elegant silhouette and construction mark it as a collector’s piece - not commonly found in general circulation.
