Thonet Nr. 4722 a bar stool from the Gebrüder Thonet catalogue of 1905. Seat diameter 42 cm, seat height 75 cm. Ribbed pressed plywood seat, four bentwood legs with a double ring stretcher. The frame is preserved in its original condition - lightly cleaned, nothing more. The plywood seat has been replaced: the original was too damaged to save. Everything else is authentic 1905.
The client approached us to repair this damage so that they could continue to use the stool. We decided to replace the damaged plywood seat with a new one that matches the old models. We left all other parts of the stool in their original condition, without altering the color or finish; we simply cleaned off the dirt and rubbed them down with beeswax. Here is the result.
